Pilgrimaps joins the Way of the Holy Grail in its process of recognition as a European Route

Valencia, January 5, 2024 - The creation of the European Cultural Route of the Holy Grail is underway in Valencia, thanks to the agreement signed between the Cultural Association of the Way of the Holy Grail, based in Valencia, and the Association Internationale des Universités du Troisième Âge (AIUTA) to create the International Association of the Way of the Holy Grail.

In a historic event for cultural promotion and sustainable tourism, Pilgrimaps, represented by its Editorial Director Inma Alvarez, accompanied the signing of the framework agreement that will connect the route of the Way of the Holy Grail in Spain, through the Via Tolosana (France), all the way into Italy, including Rome and Naples.

This landmark meeting, held at the Colegio de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos de la Comunidad Valenciana, marks a milestone in the cooperation between institutions involved in the promotion of culture, education and historical heritage.

This agreement establishes a framework for cooperation in several areas, including the promotion and dissemination of the cultural and historical heritage associated with the Route of the Holy Grail. It also includes the development of educational and research programs aimed at enriching the knowledge and experience of senior students at an international level.

Inma Álvarez, Editorial Director of PilgriMaps.com, highlighted the importance of this new route, which recreates the route of the Holy Grail from Rome to Spain, at the behest of the martyr Saint Lawrence, and which has given rise to so many legends and stories in the millennia-old culture of Europe.

PilgriMaps.com is a digital initiative created by Viator Media to bring together all of the world’s pilgrimage routes, promoting their cultural and religious heritage, encouraging sustainable tourism, and fostering inclusion and dialogue among people of different cultures and beliefs.
