Viator Media Partners with International Solidarity for Human Rights, Inc. to Promote the Route to Human Rights on the Camino Primitivo

May 23rd, 2024 - Viator Media is proud to announce its new collaboration with International Solidarity for Human Rights (ISHR), Inc. to promote the Route to Human Rights in the Camino Primitivo, a groundbreaking initiative that links the historic Camino Primitivo pilgrimage with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The collaboration aims to raise global awareness of the project’s mission to educate pilgrims and local communities about human rights along the 14 stages and 320 kilometers of the Camino Primitivo, which crosses two Spanish regions.

The Camino Primitivo Human Rights Route was created by ISHR in partnership with Where is Asturias. Its dual purpose is to raise awareness of the 30 human rights outlined in the UDHR. Art installations representing each of the 30 human rights have been placed along the route, offering pilgrims a visually rich and meaningful experience as they traverse this ancient path. Each artwork serves as a reminder of the importance of human rights in everyday life, encouraging reflection, empathy, and a deeper connection to the concept of universal dignity.

Viator Media, with its deep expertise in cultural and educational storytelling, will help promote this unique initiative to a global audience. Through engaging content and outreach, the partnership aims to draw attention to the powerful intersection of spiritual pilgrimage and human rights education, inviting both travelers and local residents to join in this transformative journey.

In addition to raising awareness among pilgrims, the project engages local schools and students, using the Camino Primitivo as a “living classroom.” By weaving human rights education into the fabric of their communities, ISHR empowers future generations with the knowledge and tools necessary to advocate for justice, equality, and respect for all.

We are honored to partner with ISHR to promote this inspiring initiative,” said Silvia Costantini, Chief Communications and Institutional Relations Officer at Viator Media. “The Route to Human Rights in the Primitive Way combines the spiritual depth of pilgrimage with the universal message of human dignity and justice. We look forward to sharing this powerful experience with a broader audience and fostering a deeper understanding of human rights in the context of this historic route.”
