Viator Media and Asociación Amigos del Camino de Santiago en Ávila join forces to promote the Camino de Santiago en Ávila

July 30th, 2024 - Viator Media is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Asociación Amigos del Camino de Santiago en Ávila to promote the historic Camino de Santiago as it passes through the beautiful province of Ávila. Together, the two organizations will highlight the unique beauty and significance of this route, inviting today’s pilgrims to explore its rich landscapes and deep spiritual heritage.

The Camino de Santiago, one of the world’s most famous pilgrimage routes, has a strong connection with Ávila, despite its geographical distance from Santiago de Compostela. The province of Ávila is crossed by six stages of the Camino del Levante, also known as the Ruta Jacobea Levantina. This ancient route was used by medieval pilgrims who arrived from the Levantine ports and then traveled across Spain to reach their final destination, the Cathedral of Santiago.

At 860 kilometers from Valencia to Zamora, the Camino del Levante is one of the longest pilgrimage routes in Spain. Its route through Ávila offers pilgrims a remarkable journey through diverse landscapes –pine forests, mountain ranges, vast grain plains and UNESCO World Heritage cities. These six stages in Ávila are not only physically rewarding, but also culturally enriching, offering travelers the opportunity to experience the warmth and hospitality of the local people.

Viator Media, in partnership with the Asociación Amigos del Camino de Santiago en Ávila, will help promote this beautiful route to a global audience. By sharing the stories of pilgrims and showcasing the breathtaking scenery and historic landmarks along the way, the collaboration aims to inspire more travelers to embark on this transformative journey. The members of the Asociación Amigos del Camino de Santiago en Ávila are committed to providing pilgrims with advice, guidance and support as they walk these ancient paths.

“We are thrilled to be working with the Asociación Amigos del Camino de Santiago en Ávila,” said Silvia Costantini, Chief Communications and Institutional Relations Officer for Viator Media. “This route offers an unforgettable experience for anyone seeking spiritual renewal, cultural discovery and a deep connection to Spain’s historic past. We look forward to bringing this incredible journey to even more pilgrims and travelers.”
